For Students

Just as every year when autumn arrives, a new cycle begins not only in nature, but also at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP). This year, from 25 October to 5 November every RSU student is invited to run for RSU SP Council elections.

Being on the RSU SP Council gives you opportunities for growth. You not only be able to attend council meetings and workgroups and express your opinion, but also make decisions about amendments to laws and regulations, monitor the SP budget and the work of the SU Board. You will also be able to elect student representatives, such as Faculty Councillors and Senators, and also be involved in various projects and events as an activist or organiser. Just like any RSU student, SP Council members can come with their own ideas and suggestions to improve the study process and environment at all faculties of the university.

The SP Council consists of 36 elected members who represent all faculties and the International Student Department. Each candidate can be voted on by the students from their faculty or department. The number of available mandates (Council members with voting rights) is determined proportionally, according to the number of students in each faculty and department.
