The week will start off by an event at the Medical Education Technology Centre to get you in a holiday mood. The movie night will be held in a cosy atmosphere where you can enjoy a mug of cocoa or other hot drinks. The SU encourages students to bring their favourite woolly Christmas socks!

On Thursday, 12 December from 10:00 to 16:00, the traditional RSU Charity Market will take place in the foyer of the RSU Main Building. University students, staff and anyone else interested will trade home-made delicacies and handcrafts. Traders are invited to apply by 11 December by filling out this form. Part of the income earned from the market will be donated to the charity project Ziemassvētku Vecīša Darbnīca (Santa’s Workshop), and visitors to the market are welcome to donate small gifts. The RSU Student Services team will wrap the gifts in accordance with the project’s guidelines, and send them on for distribution to the elderly residing in Latvian care homes.

To round off Christmas Week a photo booth will be set up in the foyer of the university on Friday, 12 December, from 10:00 to 16:00. Here you will have the opportunity to take a picture with your friends and colleagues dressed into your favourite Christmas jumpers. You will also be treated to traditional holiday delicacies, like a big mug of something warming, and have the possibility to share your holiday wishes with Santa Claus!

During Christmas Week you will also be able to donate small toys in one of the Daring Boxes at the RSU Information Centre. These boxes have been set up by RSU SU in cooperation with the Children’s Clinical University Hospital.
