On behalf of the university, he expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation for the professor's long-standing contribution to the development of dentistry, science and higher education in Latvia.
Prof. Brinkmane has been inextricably linked with RSU since 1980, and for 15 years she has headed the RSU Department of Dental Therapy and Oral Health, promoting the professional growth of young dentists and strengthening the quality of dental education and research in Latvia.
In 1997, she obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree (Dr. med.), which served as the basis for her further scientific and academic growth. The professor is the president of the Latvian Dental Association and has also been active internationally – from 2015 to 2017, she was the president of the Riga club of the international non-governmental charity organization Zonta International, and since 2008, she has been a member of the board of this organization. She is also a member of the International College of Dentists, a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, has participated in numerous scientific projects in dentistry, and is the author of many international scientific publications. For her significant contribution to the development of healthcare, Prof. Brinkmane has also received a letter of recognition from the Latvian Ministry of Health.
No less important are her personal qualities – empathy towards students and colleagues, sincerity in everyday relationships, and tireless work ethic, which inspires others and creates a special human atmosphere in the academic and professional environment. With her professionalism, knowledge, human warmth, and energy, Prof. Brinkmane has become an important authority in the Latvian and international dental community.
We sincerely congratulate our colleague!
