Development of the Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy and RSU LASE in the consolidation process

The Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE) invite colleagues to an event on 11 September at 11:00 in Lecture Theatre 3, 16 Dzirciema iela. The event will introduce the recent structural changes and highlight new opportunities for cooperation.

As of 1 September, three experienced lecturers and researchers from RSU LASE have joined the Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy, strengthening its expertise in psychology and psychological support. This step expands research opportunities and further enhances the quality of study programmes.

Within the framework of the consolidation process, RSU LASE is also undergoing targeted development. From 1 September, the previous seven departments will be reorganised into two modern and robust units: the Department of Individual and Team Sports, and the Department of Sports Theory. Eleven experienced lecturers from the Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy are transferring to RSU LASE – specialists in pedagogy will join the Department of Sports Theory, while sports lecturers will become part of the Department of Individual and Team Sports. This restructuring is designed to strengthen both teaching and research.

In addition, the staff of the Department of Health Psychology and Pedagogy has moved into modern premises at 16 Dzirciema iela, Building A, 5th floor.
