The traditional Midsummer celebrations at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will take place on Tuesday, 18 June, at 15.00 in Inspiration Park, or in the cafeteria in case of rain. Staff will be able to enjoy a performance by the band Viedais Fonogrāfs, celebrate all employees named Jānis and Līga, participate in a bread-making masterclass, and enjoy seasonal refreshments. Colleagues from the Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE) are warmly welcome to join the celebration.
This week, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and the pharmaceutical company Grindeks signed a cooperation agreement on the provision of various pharmaceutical research and development services. The close cooperation between industry and scientists will promote the development of new and innovative pharmaceutical products.
On 24 May, students in the programme Creating Innovative Digital Solutions for HPC Challenges, the first of its kind organised by Rīga Technical University (RTU), are developing user-friendly apps, websites, algorithms, and development schemes. They are collecting, aggregating, and mapping big data, as well as training artificial intelligence. Their goal is to offer prototypes of digital solutions for challenges faced by various Latvian companies and the Children’s Clinical University Hospital.

This climb requires willpower, endurance, and flexibility to overcome difficulties that come up along the way, but in return brings new, exciting discoveries, support from a team, and access to dizzying horizons like we hear about from mountain climbers. You don't however always have to pack a backpack to get to the top – you can achieve the same by enrolling in a doctoral programme at RSU!
On Thursday, 30 May, the Ambassador of Finland Anne Saloranta and Consul Laura Immonen will visit the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Education Technology Centre.
On Monday, 27 May, the Study Quality Commission of the Quality Agency for Higher Education (AIKA) decided to accredit the Healthcare study direction at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) for the next six years. It is the most extensive study direction at RSU, which includes 25 study programmes in medicine, pharmacy, public health, rehabilitation, and dentistry. Accreditation provides current and prospective students with the security and stability of having their RSU diploma recognised both nationally and internationally.

The first EIT Health Morning Health Talks of the year took place on 6 June 2024. The event was centred on the theme of Open Innovation Journeys: Collaborative Pathways, Alliances and Networks, getting an insight into open innovation alliances and how these alliances can contribute to the secondary usage of healthcare data: data sharing in open innovation.
The Rimi Riga Marathon took place on 19 May this year. A large number of both students and staff members represented Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) in all races – the marathon, half-marathon, and the 5 and 10 km races.
