From 25 to 30 June, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is playing host to a major international meeting of three consortia dedicated to breast and ovarian cancer research: CIMBA (The Consortium of Investigators of Modifiers of BRCA1/2), BCAC (The Breast Cancer Association Consortium), and ENIGMA (Evidence-based Network for the Interpretation of Germline Mutant Alleles).
On 14 June, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Innovation Centre’s business incubator B-Space held its annual closing event, Demo Day, for the fourth consecutive year. This event allows the participants of the business incubator to reflect on their achievements, draw inspiration from their peers’ projects, and compete for prizes.

A tribute to honour the best athletes, teams, and coaches from the past season at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) took place on Wednesday, 12 June. Throughout the season, RSU athletes won a total of 52 medals in various competitions in sports such as powerlifting, swimming, aesthetic group gymnastics, basketball, and volleyball.
Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024 recently published their latest results. In them, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) ranks second in the Baltic States in terms of sustainability, which is 301-400 in the world.
The topic of plants has become increasingly popular in Latvian contemporary culture in the last decade. This trend reflects the growing interest and desire of Latvian society to address the challenges that come with environmental changes and the climate crisis. It also aligns with the current shift towards plants in the humanities and social sciences.
On 12-14 June, staff from the Rīga Stradiņs University (RSU) Library staff organised and participated in the hybrid format conference of the European Association for Health Information and Libraries (EAHIL) together with 270 other library and information specialists from 28 countries. The topic of the conference was "Small Step and a Giant Leap: Reorienting Towards a New Environment".
As sunshine alternated with rain, staff from Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) and the Latvian Academy of Sport Pedagogy (LASE) celebrated Midsummer in Inspiration Park by the big oak tree on the afternoon of Tuesday, 18 June.
The participants listened to a performance by the music group Viedais fonografs, congratulated all those named Jānis and Līga, took part in bread and flower ornament-making workshops, and enjoyed a traditional Midsummer refreshments.
From 14 to 17 May, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department organised a conference and the Erasmus+ international week Internationalisation in a changing world.
