This week, members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (AmCham) gathered at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Anatomy Museum for a Business After Hours event. The evening introduced participants to the opportunities RSU offers for collaboration in the fields of innovation, lifelong learning, and philanthropy.
The event was opened by AmCham President John Tully, who emphasised the importance of strengthening ties between academia and industry, as well as working together to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Latvia.
On 16 September, the opening event of the lifelong learning programme Basic Knowledge for Obtaining Sports Coach Category C Certificate took place at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Institute of Anatomy and Anthropology, bringing together more than 50 participants.
Rūdolfs Jānis Vīksne will defend his doctoral dissertation on 6 November in an open meeting of the Clinical Medicine doctoral committee. His dissertation is titled 'Morphopathogenic Endotypes of Primary and Recurrent Nasal Polyps.'

Friendly conversations, laughter and new contacts – this was the RSU Speed Friending event, which this autumn brought together a record number of students.
On a summery evening of 26 September, local and international students of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) gathered at the RSU Student House for the traditional Speed Friending event organised by the International Department, the Student Union and the International Student Association. This time, nearly 50 students attended – the highest number of participants in the last three years.
On Tuesday, 30 September, Japanese Ambassador to Latvia Kensuke Yoshida gave a guest lecture to students of international relations and other programmes at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). He shared Japan's view on global security and the impact of the war in Ukraine on international relations. The ambassador emphasised that he was expressing his personal opinion, not the position of the Japanese government, and spoke about his experience working in Vladivostok during Russia's invasion of Ukraine three years ago.
