‘Residents have the opportunity to learn laparoscopic surgery techniques on living tissue, in conditions that are made to be as close to being in a real operating theatre as possible. There is an operating room nurse, instruments, and the latest technology. But above all, students get to experience a sense of responsibility because they are working with real tissue. There is no going back, you cannot rewind and try again’, says Aleksandrs Maļcevs, Assistant Professor at Rīga Stradiņš University and Member of the Board of the Doctors Safe Train Foundation.

This year, our university ranks 601–800 among the best universities in the world. The University of Tartu still ranks the highest among all Baltic universities, while RSU and Tallinn University of Technology share second place.

To promote the rational use of research infrastructure, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) launched the Erasmus+ funded project, EASY GOV (EASY GOV Laboratory Management Platform), together with Universidade do Minho in Portugal last year.
