Social or cultural anthropologist Ieva Puzo has been a part of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) since 2016. She is lecturer and senior research at the RSU Faculty of Communication. Her interests are related to science and technology studies, the anthropology of work and research on highly qualified staff mobility.
'Today, our biggest problem is that we see human value only at work’, Ieva Puzo said at an interview for the LR1 (national radio broadcasting network) programme Monopols.
Dr. Sarai B. Aharoni from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel will be giving a guest lecture at RSU on “Breaking Paradigms: Studying Local Women’s Peace Movements and Security Initiatives in Israel”. The lecture will take place in the Hippocrates Auditorium at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) on 15 October at 13:00.
On 22 September, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) graduates were invited to New Gen Evening held in the cosy Buberts café in Riga’s Quiet Centre. All RSU graduates, whether you are a recent graduate, or your study days are long behind you, are invited to attend these evenings that are organised by the RSU Alumni Association’s Intelligence Club. New Gen Evenings are intended to provide alumni with an opportunity to network and make friends in an informal atmosphere.
The international exhibition Anatomy & Beyond opened at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Anatomy Museum (9 Kronvalda bulvāris) on 30 September. The exhibition will be open until 31 January, and seven of its works of medical art and bioart will be integrated into the museum's permanent exhibition. The new museum opened its doors this summer, offering everyone an opportunity to get to know the diversity of the human body and to see what is usually only anatomists or surgeons see.
In the middle of September, a team from the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Education Technology Centre (METC) organised Healthcare Simulation Week, which happened as part of the International Healthcare Simulation Week 2021. The aim of the event was to draw attention to the importance of simulation technologies and to improve professionals’ and other visitors’ knowledge and skills in providing medical assistance.

This year, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has managed to improve its performance in the international university ranking U-Multirank 2021. RSU obtained a total of nine highest A scores in the overall ranking and nine As in the evaluation of medical study programmes.
