RSU International Department invites the new international students’ mentors to join a workshop to learn more about the programme and their responsibilities as mentors. A senior mentor is joining to share their experience and recommendations, as well as to answer some questions.

In order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) students and residents are currently actively volunteering at various healthcare institutions. RSU will equate the students’ volunteer work to study placements and support them with a scholarship. It is important to mention that all RSU students who volunteer at medical institutions have been vaccinated against or have recovered from COVID-19.

The global international education summit Student Journey took place on 18 - 22 October. It was organised by the London-based international education media and analytics company THE PIE. Baiba Pētersone, Director of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department, shared the university’s experience on providing support to international students at a panel discussion.
This year’s conference will be focused mostly on eye pathology. However, we will have sections devoted to the scientific and practical molecular pathology issues in brain tumour diagnostics and classification, as well as pathology of pituitary gland and congenital brain malformations. In October, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), the RSU Alumni Association and the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation green lit 14 targeted scholarships for lecturers to work on modernising study courses over the next four months. Teaching staff from both the social sciences and health care study directions presented innovative solutions for various courses to a scholarship committee in order to facilitate learning and enhance the pleasure that students’ can get from their studies.
Just as every year when autumn arrives, a new cycle begins not only in nature, but also at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP). This year, from 25 October to 5 November every RSU student is invited to run for RSU SP Council elections.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Erasmus Day 2021 took place online on 14 October and was attended by 400 Erasmus+ participants and other interested parties from more than 10 countries. The event acted as a reminder about the importance of the Erasmus+ programme, which has provided numerous opportunities for RSU students and staff to successfully integrate into the European Higher Education Area.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been included in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies Ranking 2022 for the first time. The University’s ranking at 115 is not only the best in Latvia, but also the highest ranking that a Latvian university has ever achieved in any THE ranking.
