Before the epidemic reached Latvia last week, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was actively following the latest developments in the world. In response to this the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre (METC) developed a simulation scenario for identifying patients with the disease caused by the COVID-19 virus and for practising the next steps when faced with a diagnosed patient. Initial training took place in the admissions departments of clinical university hospitals.

Course for media professionals on integration and migration

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has launched a special project for media professionals in cooperation with Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences. The project's aim is to involve the national and regional media in promoting the integration of third-country nationals legally residing in Latvia into society. The project will include training sessions in Riga, Daugavpils, Liepāja and Valmiera as well as discussions, visits by experts, and learning from the experience of media professionals in Germany and Malta.

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been conducting studies remotely since 13 March in connection with the declaration of a national emergency in Latvia. Utilising the university's extensive and advanced e-learning capabilities, as well as providing technical support and consultations to staff and students, the study process is going ahead in accordance with the approved study plan for the 2019/2020 academic year.
