On Saturday 6 April the deciding games in the 1st League of Latvian Indoor Football were held at the Elektrum Olympic Centre in Riga. It was the first day of indoor football festival. RSU/BAO-Dobele won the champions' title with an unexpected and convincing victory over Nikers from Kuldiga (8:1).
Every one of us possesses creative potential. Vladimirs Rojenko believes that creativity can be explored and applied to a working environment only with the guidance of a skilful team leader. He believes this in spite of his practical experience, where he has had to deal with team mates with weak motivation who tend to just ‘sit out’ the workday.
Signe Šetlere is a 4th year neurology resident at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Continuing Education, in the Residency in Medicine study programme. She received the award Resident of the Year for her outstanding academic achievements, her active involvement in research and her academic work.
Baiba Baikovska has been very loyal to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) – she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in international relations and a Master’s degree in communication at RSU and is currently studying in the Communication Culture and Multimedia doctoral study programme.
At the Senate meeting on 26 February the honorary title of Professor Emeritus was granted to oral and maxillofacial surgeon Professor Andrejs Skaģers from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Faculty of Dentistry of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). He received this title for his contribution to the administrative, paedagogical and scientific work of RSU.
On 3 April the RSU Institute of the History of Medicine held an off-site meeting at the Museum of Medical History in Uppsala University as part of RSU Research Week. Colleagues from Pauls Stradiņš Museum for the History of Medicine, the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University and the Pavlov First State Medical University of St. Petersburg participated in the meeting.
The 6th European Expert Meeting on Rotavirus Vaccination (EEROVAC), hosted by Rīga Stradiņš University, will be held on 23–25 April 2019 in Rīga, Latvia.
On 16 April social anthropologist Paride Bollettin will do a public talk themed 'Who Lives in the Wetlands? Multispecies Collectives and Controversies on Conservation'.
