The application period for prospective students with EU/EEA citizenship seeking to commence studies at RSU in September 2018 ends on 1 July 2018.

Students and graduates who are planning to enrol in the RSU study programme Residency in Medicine in summer 2018, starting from 3 April 2018 to 27 April 2018 can apply for a recommendation issued by the RSU department in the respective field of medicine.
In order to apply for a recommendation, a person has to fill out an application to issue a department recommendation for studies in the study programme Residency in Medicine. The application has to be submitted at RSU Student Services (K-100), 16 Dzirciema Street, Rīga.
The annual Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) scientific conference was held from 22 – 23 March 2018 with 796 researchers from the fields of social sciences and healthcare presenting 351 papers on global and domestic issues in 15 different thematic panels. The 17th Annual Scientific Conference held by RSU brought together academics, researchers, undergraduates, residents and doctoral students eager to share their findings and research outcomes.

16 February the Latvian Academy of Sciences (LAS) hosted the Scientific Achievement of the Year Awards 2017 ceremony. A research project by Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been recognised among the national scientific achievements of the year. Research was conducted on the involvement of persistent viral infections in the development of nervous system disorders, as it has been discovered that viruses may integrate into the cellular genome and the infection may be inherited from one generation to the next.
This Wednesday 21 March, the rector of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Prof. Aigars Pētersons and the rector of the Art Academy of Latvia Prof. Kristaps Zariņš signed an agreement on mutual cooperation for the implementation of interdisciplinary, educational, research, academic, art and exhibition projects.
On March 14, benefactor Egils Gulbis met with RSU management and student representatives, had the chance to see the fruits of his previous endowment and impact on student academic performance and discussed the possible expansion of support, e.g. by organising a laboratory-based knowledge contest, lab tours to Egils Gulbis laboratories, patient behaviour studies related to their interest in laboratory tests and other activities.
At ResearchSlam 2018, a contest for young researchers held last week, the presentation by Vita Melne, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) 3rd year doctoral student of the study programme Medicine was recognised as the second best presentation.
