The Faculty of Law at Rīga Stradiņš University, together with the Baltic Centre for Strategic Studies, Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities, Mykolas Romeris University, the Institute for Security and Development Policy of Sweden, Law College and Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University are organising an international scientific and practical conference “Legal Issues in Centenary of Latvia: Retrospect and Prospect” on 25 April 2018.
On Wednesday 7 March, at 18:00 a concert will be performed in the Great Hall at Rīga Stradiņš University by Emīls Dārziņš Music School Symphony Orchestra, titled "Pa ceļam uz dienvidiem" (Heading south), conducted by Andris Vecumnieks.

On 2nd March 2018, Prof. Göran Pershagen from Karolinska Institutet in Sweden will give a guest lecture titled Health effects of air pollution and noise – Experience of studies from Stockholm, organised by the RSU Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
The lecture will be held in English.
The Annual Medicine Awards 2017, established with the aim to recognise outstanding medical personalities for their contribution in the fields of medicine were presented on 9 February in the Culture Palace Ziemeļblāzma. Each year the awards are presented by the Latvian Medical Association, and considered to be among the most significant annual events in medicine. Medical students have chosen RSU Assoc. Prof. Dzintra Kažoka as Medical Lecturer of the Year.

On 16 February at16.30 at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Education Technology Centre, Room 146 a group of researchers from Heidelberg Neurology University Clinic will hold a workshop on the specifics of cortex auditivus of musicians and non-musicians, auditory perception research methods, music perception and music learning specifics for children with attention deficit (hyperactivity) syndrome and dyslexia. The participants of the workshop will be given the opportunity to take a sound perception test: subjective aspects of spectral and holistic pitch perception.

The deadline of the books borrowed in the Open access loan is 12 February. Please return the books or extend the usage term for the semester!
First semester students are asked to note that textbooks will be available for borrowing from the University's library at the Open Access Loan (Room 101, Block G, 16 Dzirciema Street) from Wednesday, 7 February, onwards.
On the afternoon of Thursday 1st February the inauguration ceremony of the new rector of Rīga Stradiņš University Aigars Pētersons was held in the Great Hall of Rīga Stradiņš University.
