On Thursday 26 April the medicine short film festival Medfest 2018 Ārpus vārdiem (Beyond Words) and discussion on silence, communication looked at from different angles will be held at Rīga Stradiņš University. This will be the first year that the festival will be held in English.

From 23 to 29 April Rīga Stradiņš University is taking part in the worldwide joint social network and museum campaign - MuseumWeek. As part of the campaign, historical materials that have a connection with current affairs are published on social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
On 13–14 April the jointly organised event of Latvian Partners (RSU and LMA) "Harmonization of on Board Medical Treatment, Occupational Safety and Emergency Skills in Baltic Sea Shipping" (OnBoard-Med project) was held in the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre.
On 17 April, the management of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) met with the Foreign Investors Council in Latvia (FICIL) and agreed on mutual cooperation for the development of higher education.
FICIL was impressed by the rich and positive experience of RSU in education export and representatives of the parties discussed the necessity of reforms in higher education.
From 14 to 19 September Rīga Stradiņš University Institute of Public Health is organising the International Summer School 2020 Riga (ISSR 2020) "Economic Modelling in Health Care: An Application-Oriented Approach". Deadline for participant applications: 14 August.

Looking ahead to the future when Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) medical and healthcare students will be taking up employment, our university has and always will treat patient safety as a priority. According to a Eurobarometer poll, for the population of Latvia, well-trained medical staff are a fundamental precondition for high-quality healthcare. The patient should be attended to by a well-prepared young specialist who has successfully completed the theoretical subjects and all stages of practical training.
From 16 to 17 March Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was proud to host the international student conference "Health and Social Sciences" bringing together an audience of 1130 listeners, 270 participants and 80 jury members from over 25 countries.
