Precautions in RSU student halls to limit the spread of COVID-19 (22 Sep 2020)

This newly-built RSU student hostel offers modern, high-quality, self-contained accommodation for students!

The new RSU student accommodation houses students right next to the RSU main building. The location of the housing facilities makes it possible for students to roll out of bed and be ready for class in a couple of minutes without the need to think of the shortest transport route to get there. The new three-story hostel comprises 135 rooms, four of which are adjusted to accomodate people with special needs.

Room options

Type A

A single bedroom suite for 1 or 2 persons (total area 17.4–23.3 sqm).

The suite consists of a living space, kitchen area and a bathroom with combined shower and toilet.

Furnishing: single bed (bed linen, pillow, blanket and towels are provided), writing desk with a table lamp, chair, bookshelf, wardrobe with sliding door, kitchenette (consisting of electric stove, rangehood and refrigerator) 

Kitchen utensils (pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, etc.) are not provided.

A double bedroom suite for 2 to 3 persons (total area 39.9–45.8 m²).

The suite consists of living space, kitchen area, a combined shower and toilet bathroom, two separate bedrooms intended for one person or a couple.

 Furnishing: single-bed (bed linen, pillow, blanket and towels are provided), writing desk with table lamp, chair, bookshelf, wardrobe with sliding door, kitchenette (consisting of electric stove, rangehood and refrigerator), dining table.

Kitchen utensils (pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, etc.) are not provided.

Shared suite for 5 persons (total area 98.6 m²).

The suite consists of living space, kitchen area, a combined shower and toilet bathroom, WC and five separate bedrooms intended for one person.

Furnishing: single bed (bed linen, pillow, blanket and towels are provided), writing desk with a table lamp, chair, bookshelf, wardrobe with sliding door, kitchenette (consisting of electric stove, rangehood and refrigerator), dining table, sofa.

Kitchen utensils (pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, etc.) are not provided.

    The price per room is fixed and includes utilities costs (heating, electricity, water, WiFi and other administrative and maintenance costs). Before moving in, you have to pay the rent for the first month and a security deposit which is equivalent to one month’s rent and will be refunded within 4 weeks after the end of your rental contract.

    The rooms are fully furnished: bed (bed linen, pillow, blanket and towels are provided), writing desk, chair, bookshelf, wardrobe, kitchenette (containing electric stove, rangehood and refrigerator) and a combined shower and toilet bathroom. Kitchen utensils (pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, etc.) are not provided.

    The hostel offers:

    • Study and recreation facilities;
    • Lockable bicycle storage;
    • Underground and open-air parking;
    • On-site laundry facilities.

    The hostel is located next to the RSU main building, on the right bank of the River Daugava in the Dzirciems administrative district. There are shops and cafeterias within walking distance and the hostel is equally well connected to other vital destinations transport-wise:

    Booking confirmation

    The booking will be considered completed after you have payed the billed amount and recevived an electronic booking confirmation to the e-mail address you have specified. 

    To take up tenancy you must sign duplicate copies of the hostel tenancy agreement upon arrival.
    Parking

    The student hostel has 37 underground and 32 open-air parking places. The hostel is connected to the underground parking facility. 

    Rates

    • Open-air parking: 30 EUR/month, or 8 EUR/day
    • Underground parking: 35 EUR/month, or 8 EUR/day

    Discounts

    Advance payment for the use of the underground parking is subject to a discount:

    • 25 % discount if the prepayment is made for a 6 month period;
    • 35 % discount if the prepayment is made for a 12 month period.
    Accessibility
    There are rooms available for people with reduced mobility - they are larger, the furniture is lowered and the showers and other facilities have been adapted (with a special shower chair, supports, help button and adjustable mirror).

    As the student hostel was designed and built, making all common areas suitable for people with special needs was a priority. The common areas, the entrance door to the hostel, the lift and the entrance doors to the rooms are wide enough for wheelchair users, and the public facilities have been equipped for people with special needs – they have a help button, supports and an adjustable mirror.
