Mission and Vision
Since 2009 RSU Library is the main medical library in Latvia, as well as provides methodological assistance and support to the libraries of health care institutions in Latvia.
The library operates in accordance with the Law on Libraries of the Republic of Latvia, the laws of the Republic of Latvia, the RSU Constitution, the RSU Library Rules and regulations approved by the RSU Senate and the international quality standard ISO 9001: 2008. On January 15, 2004, the RSU Library was registered atthe Library Register of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia with Nr. BLB 0523, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia on November 17, 2016, approved the decision of the Library Accreditation Commission to accredit RSU Library as an Official State Level Library (accreditation takes place every five years and for the first time the accreditation of the RSU Library was in 2005) in accordance with the Law on Libraries of the Republic of Latvia.The library provides university academic and scientific work in the field of information resources and services and access to Latvian and international electronic resources, as well as provides healthcare professionals with quality information on healthcare, pharmacy and general information.

To provide RSU study process, research activities and Latvian health care with high quality information resources and services, which are quickly and easily accessible to every user in according to newest information technologies,
Vision
The RSU Library is an Official State Level Library working in the unified library information system, following the best practices of European university libraries in the organization of work, with collection of high quality information resources, professional staff, a well-organized work environment and contemporary world-class technologies.
