On 22 - 24 May, members of teaching staff from the Department of Clinical Skills and Medical Technology of the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre, Jekaterina Jagodzinska-Peškova and Jevgēnijs Kravčuks took part in a  training course – Military Major Incident Medical Management and Support (MIMMS) – held in the National Defence Academy of Latvia, organised by the Latvian National Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia.

Teaching staff gained theoretical knowledge and were taught practical skills in the sorting and prioritising of casualties (triage), emergency medical assistance management, as well as cooperation with services and institutions involved in clean-up operations following major incidents and disasters with a large number of casualties. During the training, lecturers from Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia shared their experience in disaster medicine management.  The knowledge will be used in training with the aid of medical simulation equipment at the Medical Education Technology Centre.
