On 14 September, the Latvian Medical Association (LMA) congratulated the winner of the Professor Ilmārs Lazovskis Prize 2020 – the Head of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Infectology and Chair of the RSU Convent of Councillors, a prominent infectologist, academician, Professor Ludmila Vīksna. She is receiving the prize for her significant contribution to the development of medicine.

‘Prof. Ludmila Vīksna is an eminent personality. She is an outstanding doctor, enthusiastic scientist, a proficient and principled educator. She is faithful to her profession and the ideals of her teachers, including Professor Lazovskis,’ Dr. Ilze Aizsilniece, the President of the LMA emphasises.

Prof. Vīksna was greeted by the President of LMA, Dr. Ilze Aizsilniece and Prof. Viesturs Boka, Member of the Board, as well as RSU Rector, Professor Dr. habil. med. Aigars Pētersons, the Vice-Rector for Health Studies, Prof. Guntis Bahs and the Vice-Rector for Science, Phd Agrita Kiopa.
