On 30 April 2025, the Minister of Health, Hossam Abu Meri, presented the Ministry of Health's Letters of Commendation and Gratitude to health professionals at a ceremony held in the Great Hall at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU).
The aim of the Ministry of Health awards is to recognise and express gratitude to outstanding public health, healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals, officials and employees for their work and merits in the development of the sector and the Latvian state.
'At the heart of our healthcare system are its people - doctors, nurses, pharmacists, public health specialists and many other professionals whose work requires dedication, the ability to make difficult decisions and immeasurable humanity.
Today we honour not only individual achievements, but also contributions to Latvian society as a whole. The health sector is the foundation of national security and development, and we are an essential part of it,' said the Minister for Health.
