Admissions

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has launched admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year, offering 75 study programmes implemented in Latvian and English. For the tenth consecutive year, RSU ranks first in reputation among Latvian higher education institutions. This year, prospective students are again offered state-funded study opportunities, with 1,056 places available in medicine, healthcare, and social sciences study programmes.

Deadline for online applications in undergraduate programmes is 20 July, while the deadline for master’s study programmes is 10 July.

In this year’s admissions, RSU is highlighting several new and advanced study programmes designed in response to labour market demands and societal trends.

One of the most significant topicalities is the new Sports Science master’s study programme, developed by the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education. The programme will prepare high-level specialists in sports science, sports performance analysis, health promotion, and the development of the sports field, combining scientific research with practical application in sports.

Meanwhile, this is the second year that the master’s study programme in Digital Strategy and Artificial Intelligence Management will admit students to prepare professionals to work in the field of digital transformation and the implementation of artificial intelligence solutions. The programme combines competencies in technology, data analytics, management, and strategic thinking. RSU plans to offer this programme in English for the first time this year, expanding study opportunities for international students and strengthening the programme’s international dimension.

Prospective students can also enrol in the master’s study programme in Digital Transformation in Healthcare, which combines technological thinking with the needs of the healthcare sector.

Wide range of study programmes in social sciences

In the field of social sciences, RSU offers programmes in international relations, international business, law, public relations, journalism, and communication.

At the master’s level, students can pursue their degrees in international relations and diplomacy, management of international marketing and business, social anthropology, law, strategic management and public relations, as well as other programmes.

RSU also continues to implement study programmes by the Internal Security Academy, such as Police Work and Economic Security Protection intended for the internal sector professionals.

Modern healthcare programmes

For those interested in healthcare and medicine, study programmes are offered in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, dental hygiene, psychology, sports science, nutrition, midwifery, physician assistant, and other areas.

This year, the Medicine study programme has been significantly advanced to include in-depth research learning, digital competencies, medical law, and elements of military medicine. The programme is designed to prepare prospective doctors for work in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.

Number of state-funded study places

This summer, 1,056 state-funded study places are available at RSU. In addition, the university offers various tuition fee discounts for academically outstanding students, high-performance athletes, and students with substantiated social need.

Application for studies

Application for studies can be done through the RSU admissions system, and this year again, the entire process can be completed remotely by logging in via latvija.lv and signing the agreement with a secure electronic signature.
