We continue our series introducing residents and graduates of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU).
Today, 16 July, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted a kick-off event for the Europe-wide #BEACTIVE DAY 2026 physical activity initiative. This year's focus is on mental health and wellbeing, highlighting the importance of regular physical activity, as emphasised by Aleksandrs Samoilovs, Director of the Sports Department at the Ministry of Education and Science: ‘Physical activity allows us to take care of ourselves and gives us energy. We need to maintain a balance between mental and physical strain in order to function at our best.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the RSU History Museum, the exhibition Things. Places. Feelings is dedicated to the development of the Riga Medical Institute (RMI) / Latvian Academy of Medicine (LAMA) / Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) and its community over 75 years.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Dr. habil. med. Egils Vītols.
He was an outstanding neurologist, professor, and one of the foremost figures in Latvian academic neurology. His professional path was dedicated to the development of neurology, education of medical doctors, and patient care.
