Today, 14 November, Viesturs Kleinbergs, Chairman of the Riga City Council, visited Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) together with a delegation of council representatives to learn about the university’s development plans, infrastructure updates, and opportunities for cooperation between the municipality and the university.
On 31 October 2025, Dr. Heide Weishaar, Acting Head of the Evidence-Based Public Health Unit (ZIG2) of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the national public health institute in Germany, visited the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Institute of Public Health to discuss collaboration opportunities for strengthening the capacity of public health specialists in Latvia.

On 11 November, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted a meeting between the rectors of Latvian state-founded universities and the Speaker of the Saeima Daiga Mieriņa, to discuss current issues in higher education and science.
Led by RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons, meeting participants visited the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre (METC), where the latest simulation technologies and teaching methods applied in the training of healthcare professionals were presented.
On Friday, 7 November, the Ministry of Health presented Letters of Commendation and Gratitude to healthcare professionals in the Great Hall of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), expressing appreciation for their outstanding work in the fields of public health, healthcare, and pharmacy. Awards were presented to twelve of our colleagues.
The call for applications for doctoral grants at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is currently open within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund project No 1.1.1.8/1/24/I/005, ‘Doctoral grants at Rīga Stradiņš University’, which is implemented in collaboration with the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis.
Doctoral grants are targeted, competitive funding for doctoral research related to the successful development of doctoral studies, doctoral theses, doctoral theoretical research, or artistic creativity at RSU or with a project partner.
