The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Centre for Educational Growth (CEG), in collaboration with the Career Guidance and Wellbeing Centre and the Student Union (SP, Studējošo pašpārvalde), has developed a digital learning aid to support students’ independent study — a flash assistant entitled Learning How to Learn.
This year brings record participation, new opportunities, and fresh topics for the Junior Doctors Academy (JDA). According to Ingus Skadiņš, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and long-standing Head of the JDA, all 100 available places were booked within seconds. However, RSU’s offer does not end there — more than 200 additional pupils will be able to follow the classes remotely via Zoom. This exceptional level of interest highlights the Academy’s strong appeal and its importance for future medical students.
A discussion on strengthening capacity in global health will be held to share experiences and explore future opportunities for collaboration in this strategically important field.
As part of the event, Dr Heide Weishaar will present an overview of initiatives implemented by the Centre for International Health Protection at the Robert Koch Institute, with a particular focus on:
November holds a special and symbolic place in Latvia’s history — it is a month when we commemorate the courage, freedom struggles, and the founding of our state. On 11 November, we mark Lāčplēsis Day, dedicated to Latvia’s freedom fighters, and on 18 November, we celebrate the Proclamation Day of the Republic of Latvia, when an independent Latvian state was founded in 1918. These events remind us of the perseverance, faith, and unity that have shaped our nation’s path.
RSU will be hosting a meeting of the Baltic Association of Neuropathologists (BAN), a subdivision of the European Confederation of Neuropathological Societies, on Friday, 24 October.
