Seniors and health-threatening falls: how to spot the risks and take action, RSU assistant professor explains

Falls represent one of the most significant threats to the health and even life of seniors. They can lead to serious injuries, disability, and even death. But why do falls occur more frequently as people age? One major factor is frailty, a condition that can often go unnoticed until it becomes critical.

On 7 November 2025, at 12:00, the Ministry of Health and the Cabinet of Ministers will present Letters of Commendation and Gratitude, to professionals in the health sector to thank them for their outstanding achievements in the public health, healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. The presentation ceremony will take place in the Great Hall of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU).
