The traditional sport and active leisure festival Taurenis will be held on 3 and 4 June at the RSU sport and recreation base Taurene.
There will be traditional sports games in teams and individually, as well as a talent contest and, of course, a party until the first rays of the sun! Join us!

Rihards Pēteris Ročāns is a 4th year medical student at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) with outstanding academic results, a track record of active participation in research activity and holder of the Boris Teterev’s scholarship in medicine.
Olga Zemļanuhina is 4th year medical resident of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Continuing Education, study programme Residency in Medicine in the speciality: anaesthesiologist, reanimatologist. Olga is active in expanding the boundaries of knowledge offered by the university and has demonstrated excellence when participating in various national and international conferences, for example: the 7th International Baltic Congress of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, where her presentation was recognised as second best.
We are proud to announce that on the 5th RSU Health Day that was held this Wednesday on 25 April, RSU staff members and students donated 20.5 litres of blood. The lobby on the first floor of the RSU central building was turned into a venue for health check-ups where everyone could undergo various health checks and be informed on how to ergonomically optimise one’s workspace. As 25 April is celebrated in Europe as No Elevators Day, RSU staff members and students were encouraged to join this initiative and take the stairs instead of the elevator.
As the traditional Big Clean Up day, to be held this Saturday 28 April approaches, as it falls on the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Head of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Assoc. Prof. Ivars Vanadziņš urges not to forget about your personal safety and to think of environmentally friendly utilisation of waste collected.
On 19 April at the award-giving ceremony held at the Pauls Stradiņš Museum for History of Medicine, the annual Pauls Stradiņš Award was presented to RSU professor, ophthalmologist Guna Laganovska for long-standing dedication and significant contribution to the development of ophthalmology on a national and global scale through the implementation of innovative treatment methods and the promotion of eye disease prevention.
