Māris Cepurītis is a lecturer at the Department of Political Science inthe Faculty of European Studies at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), a political scientist and an expert in international relations. Māris Cepurītis has just been appointed as the Adviser on National Security Affairs to the Prime Minister of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš.

The latest data from the SHARE study have been made public

Data from Wave 7 of the SHARE study (Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe) has been made available to a wider audience. During Wave 7 of the study data was collected simultaneously in 27 EU countries and in Israel providing a unique opportunity to compare data obtained in Latvia with data from other countries participating in the project. 

The OnBoard-Med project of the Central Baltic cooperation programme has concluded

The international project ‘OnBoard-Med - Harmonization of on Board Medical Treatment, Occupational Safety and Emergency Skills in Baltic Sea Shipping’ concluded after four years on 31 March. The project was initiated to develop and coordinate vocational education programmes, to improve medical treatment, emergency assistance and occupational safety skills in Baltic Sea shipping, and to develop cross-border cooperation among medical institutions and maritime authorities.

RSU broadens its collaboration with the World Health Organization

On 1 April a Collaborating Centre for Health Professional Education of the World Health Organisation (WHO) was launched at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). The functions of the centre were delegated to the Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare.

The RSU/BAO-Dobele football team wins gold

On Saturday 6 April the deciding games in the 1st League of Latvian Indoor Football were held at the Elektrum Olympic Centre in Riga. It was the first day of indoor football festival. RSU/BAO-Dobele won the champions' title with an unexpected and convincing victory over Nikers from Kuldiga (8:1).
