On 16 – 17 May the Riga Technical University (RTU) hosted ICARe Alumni 2019, an international conference gathering those representatives from several institutions of higher education who are in charge of promoting cooperation between a university and its alumni. Representatives from 40 institutions of higher education and other educational establishments representing 23 countries took part in the event.

This year RSU Student Services received the award Structural Unit of the Year 2019 during the annual Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Academic Ball. ‘We are very excited and feel honoured and appreciated as we had been working hard the whole year,’ says Indra Treija, Director of Student Services.

The 1st East European Networking Congress for Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was held at Rīga Stradiņš University on 26-27 April. It gathered around 200 participants from 18 European countries.

Journalist Mārtiņš Daugulis is a lecturer at the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of European Studies at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). He is the head of the Politics and Political Communication study programme, a political scientist and a researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs. Daugulis has just been appointed as outside counsel on Sustainable Policy Affairs to the Prime Minister of Latvia, Krišjānis Kariņš (JV).
