On Thursday, 11 October Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will hold the Golden Owl award presentation ceremony to present the AS Grindeks awards.
Cooperation continues between the RSU Department of Orthopaedics and the University of Catania (Italy), which was undertaken in spring this year following the guest lecture by Head of the Residency Programme in Orthopaedics, Assoc. Prof. Vito Pavone.
Philipp Konrad is a 6th year (12th semester) student from Frankfurt, Germany, currently studying in the RSU study programme Medicine. He has been an active international student and while living here in Rīga has not only enjoyed spending his spare time, when not studying, in the countryside in Latvia and its regional towns but has also shown initiative and helped found Rotaract Club Rīga International, a Rotary-sponsored youth club which focuses on fellowship and community service.
On 10 and 11 October with the support of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), an organising committee conference will be held for the multidisciplinary network Indoor Living Space Improvement: Smart Habitat for the Elderly (SHELD-ON), together with three working group meetings in the Rixwell Hotel Konventa Sēta in Rīga. Signe Tomsone, Dean of the RSU Faculty of Rehabilitation is representing Latvia in this project, financed by COST (European Cooperation of Science and Technology).
This month researcher from Vilnius University, Vilius Dranseika, will give a series of lectures at the Department of Humanties as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme .
The RSU Open Days series has recommenced at Rīga Stradiņš University with the aim to inform students about study opportunities offered by RSU in English. Each month prospective students and their parents from various countries visit RSU and take part in this event, organised by the RSU International Department.
On 30 October at 16:00 Pēteris Greste, an Australian journalist of Latvian descent who also holds Latvian citizenship, will hold a public lecture in Auditorium 3 at Rīga Stradiņš University.
The deadline for abstract submission for the 2019 RSU International Conference to be held from 1 to 3 April, 2019 is 25 January.
On 18 and 19 October, social anthropologists from Rīga Stradiņš University, with assistance from the Baltic-German University Liaison Office, in conjuction with the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology and the Latvian Association of Anthropologists is organising an international conference titled "Tracing Informality in Southeast and Northeast Europe: Anthropological Perspectives".
The conference will be held in English. Participation is free.
