From 1 to 5 April Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted the international conference Research Week 2019. The week included three conferences: Knowledge for Use in Practice on medicine and health sciences, the interdisciplinary conference PLACES on social sciences and the RSU International Student Conference, the most widely attended student conference in the Baltic States.
Stav Brodsky is the winner of the 2019 RSU Student of the Year award. He is a 6th year Medical student from Israel who has taken on a very active role at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). Among his list of achievements is being the first international student on the RSU Senate, and being the President of the RSU International Students’ Association (ISA).
Jānis Zariņš is a doctoral student enrolled in the Medicine doctoral study programme. He received the annual award of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) in the category Doctoral Student of the Year. Professor Māra Pilmane, the supervisor of his doctoral thesis, describes Jānis as ‘a determined and inquisitive young researcher, who knows the value of time. He is not afraid of criticism and has been constantly evolving.’
