The RSU Anatomy Museum seeks student volunteers
If you are a student who loves anatomy, history and museums, apply for the RSU Anatomy Museum’s summer workshop. You will have the opportunity to assist polishing osteological specimens and preparing wet specimen containers which will be displayed in an upcoming exhibition.
The workshop will be held on 6 and 7 August from 11:00 to 17:00. Venue: the RSU Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare, 9 Kronvalda Bulvāris, Riga. Application deadline: 31 July 2019.
For inspiration watch the video on the process of how the historical anatomical specimen collection of the Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons in London is preserved, regenerated and conserved. The same process is done at the RSU Anatomy Museum. Volunteers are invited to assist with the final stages of the process –sealing the containers (video from 12:53).
Take the opportunity to explore the unusual collections of the RSU Anatomy Museum and hear some extraordinary stories.

The RSU Anatomy Museum summer workshop is being organised for the second year with the participation of RSU medical students. The workshop in 2018 was dedicated to dusting and registering the craniology collection. Museum specialists together with enthusiastic museum volunteers cleaned and registered 188 historical skulls.
