For Students
Conferences, workshops

On 16 and 17 March Riga Stradiņš University will host the annual International Student Conference Health and Social Sciences. The event is organised by RSU Student Council and is the largest student conference in the Baltic States.

Abstract submission in health sciences closed on 14 January whereas the abstracts for social sciences were accepted until 28 January. This year there will be 320 works presented at the conference, of which 97 will be presentations given by international students. The Student Conference will bring together healthcare and social sciences students from a number of countries – Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and many other countries. Compared to the previous years, organisers of the event are particularly pleased about the activity of RSU international students, as the number of papers submitted by them has increased considerably.

The abstract assessment commission recognises that this year the quality of the submitted papers has markedly improved, making the event more challenging not only for participants but also for the jury which will have to assess and decide which of the participants deserves recognition. There will be fierce competition in internal diseases, public health and case analysis panels.

During the conference students will have the opportunity to participate in 11 healthcare and 2 social sciences panels. Participants will present their papers to the audience and jury and take part in discussions with professors who are well-recognised in the field. This year organisers of the event have devoted much effort to supplementing the conference programme with varied additional activities – the number of master classes has been increased considerably, allowing each visitor of the event to find something that best suits their interests. The conference programme also lists numerous guest lectures and visits to popular local businesses (Grindex, Central Laboratory, New Black, Overpriced). Participants will have the chance to take part in various informal events to meet foreign colleagues and share their scientific achievements in an informal environment.

RSU management and organisers of the event cordially invite anyone interested to be part of the RSU International Student Conference Health and Social Sciences 2018, by registering on the Conference’s webpage.
