Senior evening brings together warmth, music and community

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has a tradition of organising a Senior Evening to thank seniors for their contribution to the development of the university. This year, the event took place on 21 May at the RSU Great Hall. 

The event was attended by former and current employees who have contributed to the development of the university through their work, knowledge, and experience. 

Signing of agreement marks launch of RSU Kurzeme Study Centre in Liepāja

On 25 May 2026, the RSU Kurzeme Study Centre (KSC) began operations in Liepāja following the signing of a lease agreement between RSU and Liepāja Regional Hospital (LRH). This will ensure the delivery of medical education based on workplace experience, research, and simulations. This step is part of the reorganisation of the RSU Liepāja Branch, which will officially begin on 1 July 2026.

On May 20, Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) held an event to thank student mentors who supported new students during the 2025/2026 academic year, helping them successfully begin their studies and adapt to student life.

In total, 213 mentors completed the RSU Mentorship Programme this academic year – 109 international student mentors trained by the RSU International Department, and 104 local student mentors prepared by the RSU Student Union.

RSU Research Breakfast highlights new cooperation initiatives for developing Riga

At the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Research Breakfast “Science for the Future of the City of Rīga”, held on 20 May at the RSU Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre, researchers and city representatives emphasised the importance of scientific and data-based cooperation in making sustainable development decisions for Riga that meet the needs of its residents.

From 22 to 24 May, Riga will host the XLI SELL Student Games. Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will be the most widely represented university, with 120 of our students competing across all 14 sports disciplines and demonstrating both their high level of athletic preparation and the university’s strong student athlete system.
