Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death worldwide, and to a large extent they can be prevented through a healthy lifestyle. When disease strikes, adherence is essential – patient involvement in treatment, correct use of medication, a healthy diet, physical activity, and health monitoring.

On 26 and 27 March 2026, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host the 12th International Student Conference Health and Social Sciences (ISC).
RSU ISC is a student-run conference that aims to develop students' scientific skills and activities through a series of educational workshops in health and social sciences, plenary sessions where professionals share their insights on various current topics, and medical and dental simulation championships.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is strengthening its position as a research university, with education and research that make a significant contribution to public health and well-being in Latvia, Europe, and globally. In 2026, the consolidation of RSU and the Latvian Academy of Sport Education (RSU LASE) will be completed, alongside the reorganisation of the university’s internal structure.
On 5 February 2026, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) signed a memorandum of cooperation with three organisations that are important to the RSU community in order to strengthen a unified approach to philanthropy, student support, and graduate engagement initiatives.
The memorandum was signed by RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons, Chair of the RSU Foundation Dace Gardovska, Head of the RSU Student Union Kristiana Jurkevica, and Chair of the RSU Alumni Association Egita Pole.
