The advent of ChatGPT and other generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in education has been phenomenal. Many schools and universities are still trying to understand how these technologies will affect traditional teaching methods and academic principles and how to deal with them in the future.

Panaceja 2025 – METC simulation solutions strengthen the state’s readiness for crisis situations

On Friday, 23 May, the civil-military medical exercise Panaceja 2025 took place in Riga, its surroundings, Bauska, and Jūrmala, with active involvement of the Rīga Stradiņš University Medical Education Technology Centre (RSU METC). The goal of this exercise was to test and improve the ability to effectively collaborate in crisis situations, ensuring coordinated and efficient medical assistance to victims within the framework of comprehensive national defence.

In its 75th anniversary year, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is taking part in the LAMPA conversation festival in a particularly ambitious way - with the RSU Re:start station. The station will host various activities over the course of the festival's two days. Visitors are invited to reboot their physical, psychological and creative resources by looking at themselves and society through the prism of sustainability and development.

On 20 May, several Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) staff members were honoured and congratulated for having received the highest state awards and presented with the Annual Awards in Medicine by the Latvian Medical Association. The ceremony took place in the RSU Senate Hall.

This year, 34 RSU colleagues were presented with various state awards.

RSU, Kuldīga Municipality and Roche to collaborate on anthropological study of Latvian population

On 20 May, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Rector, Prof. Aigars Pētersons,  Chair of the Kuldīga Municipality Council, Inese Astaševska, and Member of the Board of the healthcare company Roche Latvija, Rauls Vēliņš, signed a memorandum for cooperation in the implementation of an anthropological study of the Latvian population in the Kuldīga Municipality.
