37 students graduated from various doctoral study programmes at Rīga Stradiņš Universiy (RSU) in 2019. They received their certificates at a ceremony on 11 December. Among them were doctoral students in medicine, law, pharmacy, communication, political science and sociology. The Minister of Health Ilze Viņķele, RSU Rector Professor Aigars Pētersons, Vice-Rector for Science Agrita Kiopa, the Dean of the Department of Doctoral Studies Prof. Sandra Lejniece, Vice-Rector for Health Studies Prof. Guntis Bahs and others were there to congratulate the graduates.
After evaluating all submissions for most significant scientific accomplishment of 2019, the Latvian Academy of Sciences (LAS) has announced ten notable scientific accomplishments. The Empowering Women Entrepreneurship in Health Innovation programme (WE Health) aims to enhance the participation of women in health innovation and entrepreneurial activities, by providing capacity-building specifically tailored to women’s needs and by inspiring and supporting them to advance in their professional careers.
The first module of the programme takes place 11-13 May 2020 in Galway, Ireland, and applications are being accepted until 19 April 2020.
