Kristaps Zaļais: Everyone Interested in Entrepreneurship is Welcome at the Business Incubator

The RSU Business Incubator launching in September, will be a new opportunity for young entrepreneurs or young people with ideas for a business, as well as for students simply interested in entrepreneurship. At the Business Incubator they will be able to gain new knowledge, skills and experience, to search and find partners, develop their unique product or service, as well as join a group of like-minded people who are already implementing their ideas or are planning to do so.

RSU Experts Draw on US Experience to Develop a Higher Education Interwoven With IT

Assistant Professor Jevgenijs Proskurins, Head of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Physics, and Uldis Doniņš, Head of the RSU IT Department’s Information Systems Division, recently returned from the US with a store of knowledge and fresh ideas to share with both colleagues and students – for example a new study course where future healthcare professionals would be able to learn programming, ideas for a new 3D printing technology laboratory, and pedagogical innovations in higher education.

RSU Concludes International Project with Discussion on the Development of Media Literacy in the Baltic Sea Region

Media experts from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) held an online discussion dedicated to a special edition (Advancing Media Literacy Research in the Baltic Sea Region) of the research journal Central European Journal of Communication on 30 June 2020. The event gathered communication experts, journalists, teachers, representatives of state and local government institutions, non-governmental organisations, amongst others. The discussion focused on the development of media and information literacy and media pedagogy.

Liene Dambiņa: Know What You Want When Choosing to Study Health Management

Liene Dambiņa (pictured) is a graduate of the Health Management master’s degree programme jointly implemented by Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and RISEBA University of Business, Arts and Technology. She has been the Chairperson of the Board of the Children’s Hospital Foundation for twelve years and has during her time there implemented various projects aimed at ensuring that children are provided with the best health care possible.

Mentors Prepare to Welcome New International Students

In preparation for welcoming new international students at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) this autumn, the RSU International Department (ID) has initiated online mentor training. During the training, mentors learn what new students expect from them and how mentors can help the new international students.

The training specifically focused on the need for support in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
