Last Friday, 26 September, a ceremony was held in the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Great Hall to congratulate the University's residency graduates who received their diplomas recognising their specialisations and medical qualifications. A total of 159 young doctors joined the ranks of Latvian healthcare professionals, representing 47 specialties, including family medicine, anaesthesiology, neurology, gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, and others.

The barometer is based on data and analysis, providing a clear picture of the challenges facing the sector and possible strategic investment directions.
On 19 September, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted the international scientific-practical conference “Modern Security Challenges and Strategies for Their Prevention – Towards a Secure Society” for the first time. The event gathered security policy researchers, academics, representatives of law enforcement institutions, as well as doctoral candidates and students from Latvia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Albania, Kosovo and other countries both in person and online, to discuss one of the most pressing issues of today’s society – security.
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has published its latest Global Innovation Index 2025, and three universities have been identified as the leading centres of innovation in Latvia: Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Riga Technical University, and the University of Latvia, according to the Latvian Patent Office.

On 11 September, the RSU Council held its first meeting of the academic year. In his address, RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons highlighted the significance of the meeting, taking place as the university marks its 75th anniversary and reflects on past achievements.
On Thursday, 25 September, at 18:00, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Anatomy Museum (9 Kronvalda bulvāris, Riga) will open Someone I Know, an exhibition of watercolours by British artist Andrew Carnie. The exhibition will run until 27 December.
