This year we are celebrating 16 years since RSU joined the Erasmus programme. Along with other universities in Europe, RSU will recognise this programme by hosting a special event "Erasmus+ Culinary Journey" during which we will launch an Erasmus+ Alumni Recipe Book that will feature hearty meals and tasty adventures. RSU paediatricians place fifth in competition in Italy

Last week, 38 teams of young paediatricians from Italy, France, Spain and Latvia competed in the Third Paediatric Simulation Games in Latina, a city near Rome. A team of the residents from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), under the leadership of a lecturer and physician of paediatric intensive care Reinis Balmaks, placed fifth in the competition.

The RSU team comprised of eight residents: Luīze Auziņa, Baiba Ziemele, Aleksandra Rudzāte, Anna Gūtmane, Dagnija Pētersone, Roberts Gobergs, Gunta Zvīgule-Neidere and Paula Kļaviņa.

Between 4 - 5 September, Professor Sandra Kaija and Assistant Professor Inga Kudeikina from the Faculty of Law of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) participated in an international scientific conference held in Rome. The conference was dedicated to the environment and environmental protection in the context of sustainable development.

The conference was organised by the European Centre of Sustainable Development, and work was organised into three thematic sections:

Guest lecture by Professor from the Saint Petersburg State University on traumatology and orthopaedics

Professor Leonid Solomin, MD, PhD, from the Saint Petersburg State University, Vreden Russian Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, will give a guest lecture at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) about using external fixation rings in the treatment of complex trauma in the extremities. This lecture is part of efforts to further the cooperation between the Department of Orthopaedics at RSU and Prof.

RSU participated in the 2019 iNOVUSS Festival

The iNOVUSS Innovation Festival took place this year from 30 August to 1 September on Lucavsala Island in Riga. There was something there for everyone: interactive demonstrations of healthy diets for children, virtual reality for young adults, and current and emerging innovators and researchers could get information and inspiration for future projects at the festival. Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) participated in the festival for the first time, along with six other Latvian universities.
