On 10 September, the launch celebration of the monograph Visceral Aesthetics: Affects and Feminist Art in Post-Socialism by Jana Kukaine, lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences, took place at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU Anatomy Museum.
The event was attended by university representatives, current and former students, as well as guests from other academic institutions, cultural and art centres.
On 15 May, the European Commission approved the project 'Validated non-invasive liquid biopsy tests for cancer prediction in LYNCH Syndrome, PREDI-LYNCH'. The project was officially launched on 1 May, and it is funded by the European Commission's Horizon Europe Mission on Cancer with 13.6 million Euro (project No. 101213916).
On 1 June 2025, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) started the project RSU Participation in the Horizon Europe Programme (Projecta No. 1.1.1.5/3/25/I/014).
As part of the European Joint action in rare diseases ERDERA, on 2 and 3 June, an international workshop took place in Rīga focusing on countries' experiences in developing and implementing national plans and strategies in rare diseases.
RSU acting lecturer Lāsma Spundiņa shares the results of a study on physical activity among students at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). Physical activity is one of the most important components of a healthy lifestyle – it not only improves physical health but also enhances mood, sleep quality, and overall well-being. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that adults aged 18 to 64 engage in at least 150–300 minutes of moderate-intensity, or 75–100 minutes of high-intensity aerobic physical activity per week.
On 28-29 May, part of the graduating class of prospective doctors took one of the stages of the national examination in a new format at the Rīga Stradiņš University Medical Education Technology Centre (RSU METC). The new format includes a simulation-based environment with simulated patients.

From 26 to 28 May, the first evaluation round of the BioPhoT research and innovation project competition took place, bringing together research teams from across Latvia. Participants presented their ideas to an independent panel of industry and commercialisation experts. Among them were 13 teams from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) – 6 of which have successfully advanced to the second round.
On Thursday, 29 May, EIT Health Latvia and Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted a discussion in the Morning Health Talks discussion series focusing on the theme “More Than Money: the Missing Links in Healthcare Innovation Success.” The key takeaway from the event was that successful healthcare innovation depends heavily on close collaboration between entrepreneurs, researchers, and healthcare institutions, supported by a unified framework that helps startups move from idea to patient impact.
On 29 May, the second discussion with representatives of the sports sector was held at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), bringing together 30 experts from leading sports institutions, including representatives from. The discussion focused on the quality of sports specialist training, the demands of the labour market, and the development of programmes within the Sports study field.
