The Faculty of Rehabilitation at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was established in 1994 back when the university was still called the Medical Academy of Latvia.

Aspiring physiotherapists were the first to start their studies at the newly established faculty. Over the past 25 years, over 2 000 functional specialists have graduated from RSU, among them audiologists and speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, technical orthopaedists, nutrition specialists, art therapists, as well as such rehabilitation professionals as rehabilitation physicians, social workers, health psychologists and others.
