Egils Levits, the President of Latvia, will pay a working visit to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) on 28 February. The President will meet with students and anyone interested, get acquainted with simulation technologies in healthcare and social sciences and discuss the development of higher education and research in Latvia with university management.

The visit will begin with a guest lecture on the Development of Democracy in Latvia in the RSU Great Hall, from 14.00 to 14.40, followed by a question and answer session. RSU students and anyone interested are invited to attend the lecture. The lecture will be moderated by Mārtiņš Daugulis, a lecturer from the RSU Faculty of European Studies and the Head of the Politics and Political Communication study programme.

The lecture will be followed by a visit to the preclinical training centre of the RSU Faculty of Dentistry. The centre is equipped with the most advanced simulation technologies in Northern Europe that are integrated in the training process of prospective dentists.

Next, the President will visit the forensic laboratory of the RSU Faculty of Law, where students learn to examine crime scenes, detect various types of trace materials and collect material evidence.

Finally, the President will meet with university management to discuss the development of higher education and research in Latvia.
