In making decision, the editor may be guided by the journal’s editorial policy developed by the editorial board, as well as to consult other editors and reviewers, and to take into account legal regulations to avoid potential copyright infringement, plagiarism or defamation. The editor should maintain the academic integrity by not allowing business interests to influence intellectual and ethical standards, and should be always prepared to publish corrections, clarifications, apologies, or retractions when necessary.

Fairness

The editor's decision to accept or reject an article for publication should be based solely on the article’s significance, originality, clarity of expression, and its relevance to the aim and scope of the journal, without regard to the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views.

Confidentiality

Submitted manuscripts are considered confidential documents. The editor and editorial staff shall not disclose any information about the manuscript submitted to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher.

Disclosure of conflicts of interest

The editor must ensure a fair and appropriate peer review process of research articles. The editors must not make decisions on manuscripts in which they have a potential conflict of interest. The editor must require both the authors and reviewers to disclose any potential conflict of interest.

Reviewers' responsibilities

Cooperation with the editor

Peer reviewers assist the editor in making an editorial decision regarding the rejection or acceptance of articles submitted to the journal and, through the editor, may also help the author in improving the article.

Peer reviewers agree to review articles for which they have the subject expertise and the reviewing of which they can perform, within the agreed timeframe. Reviewers who feel unqualified to review the manuscript submitted or who are aware that the reviewing will not be possible within the agreed timeframe, should immediately notify the editor for alternative reviewers to be contacted.

Any statement that an observation, results, arguments, or conclusions have already been previously reported, must be supported with an appropriate reference. Reviewers should also call to the editor's attention if the submitted manuscript contains any similarities or overlaps with other previously published works that the reviewer is aware of.

Disclosure of conflicts of interest

Reviewers should declare any potential conflicts of interest, and if such conflicts relate to the manuscript under review, they should refrain from participating in the review process.
