From 27 June to 4 July, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is hosting its summer graduation ceremonies, with graduates of bachelor’s and master’s study programmes from five faculties and the RSU Liepāja branch receiving their diplomas. Approximately one in seven of this summer's 1,456 graduates is an international student. The graduation ceremonies will be held in the courtyard of the RSU Great Hall next to Inspiration Park. Guests are also invited to follow the graduation ceremonies online on the RSU website. 

Nearly 500 medical, dentistry and pharmacy students, including 51 from the Liepāja branch and 203 international students, are among this summer’s graduates. 308 social sciences students will also receive their diplomas. 

On 27 June, the RSU Liepaja branch kicked off the graduation marathon at the Hall of Roses in the Liepāja Olympic Centre, where 26 Nursing, 10 Physician Assistant and 15 Medical Massage specialists received their diplomas. The RSU Liepaja branch has for 80 years been the only university in the Kurzeme region that has offered healthcare education.

On Wednesday, 2 July, at 10:00, RSU graduation celebrations will begin in Riga, with 109 graduates from the Faculty of Dentistry and 23 graduates from the Faculty of Pharmacy receiving their diplomas. At 14:00, the Faculty of Medicine will celebrate its graduation, with 212 new doctors graduating this summer. Later, at 17:00, the first summer graduation ceremony will take place for 113 graduates from the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education when the RSU community will celebrate new specialists in Sports Education and Sports Science, as well as Physiotherapy. 

On Thursday, 3 July, at 10:00, the Faculty of Social Sciences will honour part of its 308 graduates. These will include specialists in Economic Security Protection (12); Law study programmes (42), as well as specialists in International Business, Marketing, Advertising, Start-Up Entrepreneurship (98). At 14:00, the ceremonies will continue for the graduates from Multimedia Communication (46), Public Relations (9), Journalism (17), International Relations and Diplomacy (35), etc.

On Friday, 4 July, at 10:00, 145 doctors and 41 dentists – the international graduates from the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry – will be honoured. The final day of the series of graduations will conclude with a large number of graduates from the RSU Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences, where 495 specialists are completing 15 different study programmes this summer. The largest number of the faculty graduates are bachelors and masters of Psychology (95), Nursing (75), Physiotherapy (73). Other graduates include specialists in Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Audio Speech Therapy, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Healthcare, Sports and Health Management, Rehabilitation, as well as Public Health and Nutrition Science. 

At the graduation ceremonies, the new specialists will be congratulated not only by the RSU and faculty managements but also by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Defence, representatives of ministries and employers, as well as other guests.
