On the 36th anniversary of the Restoration of the Independence of the Republic of Latvia on 4 May 2026, the official award ceremony of Latvia’s highest state decorations was held at Riga Castle. The decorations were awarded by the President of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been awarded the prestigious “Choose Europe for Science” project under the Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions COFUND programme, further strengthening its position in internationally competitive research. The initiative will be implemented by the RSU Institute of Microbiology and Virology in collaboration with the RSU Social Sciences Research Centre, supporting an interdisciplinary approach to attracting outstanding postdoctoral researchers to RSU and sustainable scientific careers in Latvia and Europe.

Members of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Alumni Association are invited to attend the association's general meeting on Tuesday, 16 May 2026 at 17:00.
The aim of the general meeting is to look back at the events of the past year and to discuss the most important moments in the life of an RSU alumni.

On May 15, the student entrepreneurship forum Impact Pitch Arena 2026 will bring together nine student teams from Rīga Stradiņš University, University of Latvia, and Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
The event will take place in Rīga as part of Deep Tech Atelier, the leading Baltic deep tech event, offering young innovators the opportunity to present their ideas to an international audience.
