RSU to host first international conference on global security threats

On 19 September, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host the first international scientific and practical conference Modern Security Challenges and Strategies for Their Prevention – Towards a Secure Society. The conference is organised by researchers from the RSU Faculty of Social Sciences and will bring together scientists, industry experts, policymakers, law enforcement officials, state and local government officials, as well as representatives of non-governmental organisations from Latvia and around the world to discuss contemporary security challenges.

The evaluation process of the first research and innovation project competition under the platform “Biomedical and Photonics Research Platform for the Creation of Innovative Products” (“BioPhoT”) has concluded, and 40 projects have been selected for implementation. They represent a wide spectrum of research, with a focus on smart specialization areas such as biomedicine, medical technologies, photonics, materials science, energy, and the environment.

RSU students enjoyed unique opportunity to discuss artificial intelligence with Finnish and Latvian presidents

On 16 September, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs met with RSU students at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Education Technology Centre (METC). The discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) was led by Jānis Sārts, Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, and Mārtiņš Daugulis, Associate Professor at the RSU Faculty of Social Sciences.

Consolidation continues: RSU Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy and RSU LASE celebrate new teams, facilities, and future goals

On 11 September, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted a celebratory event for the Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy and the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE), marking a significant milestone in the University’s internal and external consolidation process. Participants from both the Department and RSU LASE were introduced to recent structural changes, the department’s new facilities, and future plans.
