This free interactive workshop provides a practical introduction to the methodological foundations of using cognitive tests in research. Participants will explore what constitutes a cognitive test, how cognitive constructs are operationalized, and which core characteristics determine test quality, including reliability, validity, and sensitivity.

On 28 April, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted a visiting session of the Sports Subcommittee and the Higher Education, Science, and Human Capital Subcommittee of the Saeima Education, Culture, and Science Committee. During the session, members of the Parliament, industry policymakers, and the RSU management discussed the development of sports education and science, with particular attention paid to the consolidation process and results of the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (RSU LASE).

This lecture is open to RSU doctoral students, researchers or other interested participants. It will provide an overview of unsupervised machine learning approaches for biomedical data analysis, with a focus on applications in cell biology and medicine. 

On 29 May 2026, Rīga Stradiņš University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Human Biomonitoring Council of Latvia, will host the international conference 'Human Biomonitoring as a Public Health Instrument: from Science to Policy Decisions.' We expect engaging scientific discussions and the exchange of new ideas focused on the role of human biomonitoring in public health, the interpretation of scientific evidence, and its translation into evidence-based policy at national and European levels.
