Each year, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) reviews and improves the criteria for its Science Motivation Programme to align with the University’s strategic goals and the growing importance of research results in international rankings. In the past two years, the programme has undergone major changes, including adjustments to the amount of remuneration and the conditions for receiving it.
On 15 October 2025, the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre (METC) will host the German Ambassador Gudrun Masloch and Head of the Legal and Consular Section of the German Embassy Beate Kirch.
The Ambassador will meet with RSU management and students, tour the METC and learn about simulations and military medical education at RSU.
In Latvia, one of the winners of the Women in Science Baltic Fellowship 2025 competition is Asst. Prof. PhD Jana Kukaine, Lead Researcher at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Social Sciences. She received the fellowship for her research project Plant Aesthetics in Baltic Contemporary Art: Women’s Stories and Experiences.
Last Friday, 26 September, a ceremony was held in the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Great Hall to congratulate the University's residency graduates who received their diplomas recognising their specialisations and medical qualifications. On 23 September, the study 'Health Economics Barometer 2025' was presented, and Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) played a significant role in it. This study reveals for the first time how healthcare system funding and service availability affect Latvia's economic development and public welfare. The barometer is based on data and analysis, providing a clear picture of the challenges facing the sector and possible strategic investment directions.
On 19 September, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted the international scientific-practical conference “Modern Security Challenges and Strategies for Their Prevention – Towards a Secure Society” for the first time. The event gathered security policy researchers, academics, representatives of law enforcement institutions, as well as doctoral candidates and students from Latvia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Albania, Kosovo and other countries both in person and online, to discuss one of the most pressing issues of today’s society – security.
