Recognition of study results
In accordance with Cabinet Regulation No. 505 Regulations on the Recognition of Competences Acquired through Non-Formal Education or Professional Experience, and Study Results Achieved in Previous Education, every individual has the right to submit an application to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) requesting the recognition of competences acquired through non-formal education or professional experience, and study results achieved in previous education, within a study programme or part of a study programme implemented by the University.
Procedure
The decision on the recognition of competences acquired through non-formal education or professional experience, and study results achieved in previous education is made by the Commission for the Recognition of Competences Acquired through Non-Formal Education or Professional Experience and Study Results Achieved in Previous Education established by the higher education institution. Its rights, obligations, conditions for establishment, as well as specific conditions for the recognition of study results achieved in previous education or professional experience include:

Cost of service: 131 EUR
To initiate the recognition of the achieved study results, the following must be submitted to the Commission:
- Application;
- Proof of previously obtained higher education (diploma without diploma supplement);
- Documents certifying the competences acquired through non-formal education or professional experience, and study results achieved in previous education. One of the supporting documents is a certificate from the place of employment confirming the place and period of professional experience with a current date of issue (issued no later than one month before its submission to RSU);
- Bank payment order for the payment of EUR 131.

The submitted documents must be:
- signed with a secure electronic signature or eSignature at the RSU Student Services
or
- on the unified state and municipal service portal www.latvija.lv.
When submitting copies of documents (diplomas, certificates, job descriptions, bank payment orders, etc.), a confirmation of the accuracy of the copies must be attached in accordance with Paragraph 4 of Cabinet Regulation No. 558 Procedures for Drawing up and Preparing Documents (copies – documents that have not been signed by the issuer with a secure electronic signature).
The application will be reviewed and a decision made within four months of receipt of the application.
