Artūrs Kurbatovs is a lawyer and doctoral student in law who combines academic work with practical experience in both the public and private sectors. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Rīga Stradiņš University and a lecturer at the College of Business Administration, specialising in family law and technology law. Kurbatovs holds a professional master’s degree in law and a qualification of a lawyer, while he has strengthened his practical knowledge in the application of law when working in the legal department of one of the largest capital companies of Riga Municipality – Rīgas satiksme. He is currently Legal Adviser to the Minister of Transport and actively participates in public debates on the importance of the rule of law, justice, and legal ethics of lawyers in today’s society.
