Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Open University allows anyone to enrol in the medical and dentistry study programmes offered by RSU or individual study courses in the capacity of a free listener. 

Study what inspires you

Learn about the offered study possibilities, syllabus and offered study courses, select the topics you are interested in and apply. Following receipt and consideration of your application, you will be informed of the study schedule, time and place, tuition fee, teaching staff and the amount of credit points to be acquired.

Manage your time

You are given the freedom to choose between two options: 

  • Participate as a free listener without taking any tests and exams, or alternatively;
  • Study under the same conditions as other students and obtain a document certifying the amount of credit points obtained.

No admission exams!

To enrol at the Open University you do not have to take any admission exams. However, please note that to acquire the complete study programme in the capacity of a free listener you must be able to certify that you have acquired the required level of previous education.

Registration for Spring Semester 2018 study courses starts on 15 January.
Applications for the study courses must be be submitted 5 working days before the beginning of the selected study course.

You may select a maximum of 4 study courses.

There is a limited number of places within the study course.

The tuition fee for the study course is calculated by multiplying the amount of credit points by the rate of a single credit point. Single credit point rates in the study programme "Medicine" is 344.00 EUR.

Dentistry

You may select a maximum of 4 study courses.

There is a limited number of places within the study course.

The tuition fee for the study course is calculated by multiplying the amount of credit points by the rate of a single credit point. Single credit point rates in the study programme "Dentistry" is 419.00 EUR.


Procedure for attendees

To obtain the document certifying the acquisition of courses at RSU Open University, please observe the following procedure:

  • Step 1: Submit your application by e-mail auatrsu[pnkts]lv:
  • Step 2: After approval by the Open University, the Open University provide consultations with regard to the acquisition of the study courses – conditions, tuition fees, credit points and venue
  • Step 3: After receipt of the notification by the Open University, arrive at the university to sign the contract
  • Step 4: After the receipt of the invoice, pay the fee; the Open University will send you the information about the venue and access to e-studies
  • Step 5: During the first class, notify the teacher that you applied to the course through the Open University
  • Step 6: At the end of the course you will receive one of the following documents:
    • in case of the acquisition of the entire course and passing the exam – certificate containing the grade and number of credit points, signed by the Vice-Rector for Education;
    • in the case of the acquisition of the course without passing the exam – certificate containing the number of academic hours, signed by the author of the respective course;
    • in case of participation in the lecture, class or seminar – reference containing the information about the topic, number of academic hours, signed by the author of the respective course and head of the Division of Postgraduate Courses.
