Preliminary Knowledge:
Medical biochemistry and normal physiology of FF 2nd and 3rd course level.
Objective:
Promote the acquisition of knowledge about the detoxification processes taking place in human body; importance of biochemical indicators used in diagnostics.

Assessment Criteria:
• Participation in practical classes, problem solving (50%). • At the final examination, the examination is a presentation of a scientific work on the given study course (50%).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:After successful completion of the course the student will be able to: • tell about the role of cytochrome P450 in metabolism, principle of operation; • define conjugated molecule formation and the role of in metabolism; • describe the main detoxification processes in the body; • interpret diagnostic biochemical parameters.
Skills:Will be able to explain: • Xenobiotics development chances in the body; • Cytochrome P 450 operating principles; • Conjugated molecule formation processes and the role of in detoxification. Will be able to evaluate detoxification process and differences in various organs. Will be able to evaluate the diagnostic significance of biochemical indicators.
Competencies:The student will not be able to apply the acquired knowledge about ongoing body detoxification processes; their integration and regulation. Will be able to understand the biochemical diagnostic indicators.
