Knowledge: | Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to describe and systematise the correspondence of particular symptoms and syndromes to particular diseases and to view them analytically in the aspect of differential diagnosis; to explain and justify necessary examinations, including specific, laboratory, radiologic, morphological etc.; and based on the above mentioned examinations to justify the diagnosis in a detailed way; to develop a treatment plan by applying data confirming the diagnosis; to be able to explain the choice of therapeutic activities under circumstances when differential diagnostics is still in process; to be able to demonstrate knowledge necessary for differential diagnosis.
Skills: | Upon successful completion of the course the students will be able to plan medical activities for a particular patient for differential diagnostic purposes; to clarify various anamneses, including epidemiological, in a detailed, deepened and purposeful way; by applying the acquired facts in diagnosis of diseases and differential diagnosis; to assess, interpret and analyse the acquired medical data and investigation results: laboratory, ray diagnostics, functionally morphological etc. with the aim to establish the diagnosis.
Competencies: | Upon successful completion of the course the students will be able to develop a detailed examination plan and treatment programme of complicated infectious diseases and/or non-infectious diseases under the circumstances of differential diagnosis in pathology and to prescribe medication for ensuring patients with individualised therapeutic approach; to apply basic knowledge of argumentation, rhetoric and logics in professional cooperation with patients, patients' relatives and colleagues in the field of diagnosis of infectious diseases, differential diagnosis, treatment and prevention observing medical ethic requirements and respecting patients' rights; to benefit from e-studies in solving medical issues; to take a leading role in health promotion in the context of specific and non-specific prevention of infectious diseases; to fulfil administrative functions in choosing the effective diagnosis of infectious diseases and treatment principles.
